Luke Berry signs for Barnsley
Luke Berry has today signed for Barnsley for an undisclosed fee.
The club received an unsolicited and unwelcome offer in the last 48 hours which met the release clause in Luke's contract.
Luke has since expressed his desire to leave, as he seeks to further his career at a higher level. The club have reluctantly accepted Luke's transfer request.
Luke is one of the latest products of Cambridge United's successful youth scheme, having joined the club at the age of 14. He then completed his scholarship and went on to make over 100 first team appearances for the U's. The club would like to thank Luke for his contribution since making his début in 2011, culminating in the success of last season in winning the FA Trophy and promotion to the Football League.
