U's earn famous draw with Red Devils

A fantastic display from Cambridge United saw them hold Premier League giants Manchester United to a 0-0 draw and set up a FA Cup fourth round replay at Old Trafford.

The U's had the better of the first half, with Josh Coulson blocking a close-range effort from team-mate Cameron McGeehan. United came under pressure after the break, with Chris Dunn saving well from Falcao and Robin van Persie blasting a shot over.

But the U's held on and will now look forward to locking horns with Louis van Gaal's men for a second time.

Richard Money named an unchanged starting line-up, with new signing Dominic Ball joining fit-again Luke Chadwick on the bench. Though Wayne Rooney and Juan Mata were absence for Manchester United, boss Louis van Gaal named a strong team, with David De Gea, Angel Di Maria and Falcao all starting.

It was United who had the better of the opening period, with Ryan Donaldson causing a threat down the right and Tom Elliott proving a mobile threat upfront, keeping Jones and Rojo occupied with some intelligent running.

Elliott planted a header wide and Donaldson also glanced an effort over, while the best chance was blocked by Josh Coulson as his team-mate Cameron McGeehan poked the ball goalwards after a corner.

The visitors were unable to test Chris Dunn, with only a low shot from Adrian Januzaj forcing the keeper into action.

If the first half belonged to the U's, the second half saw the visitors dominate possession, with Januzaj and Antonio Valencia hugging the touchlines and delivering a string of crosses.

A clever turn from Falcao saw him find space in the box, but Dunn was equal to his shot, blocking it away and over the bar. Then substitute Van Persie was set free down the left channel, but with a clear sight of goal ballooned his shot high over.

Other than that United were fairly comfortable, though there was one hairy moment when a cross from the left saw Dunn produce a decent save after a goal-mouth scramble. Greg Taylor was then in the right place to thump the ball away.

Huge cheers greeted the final whistle, and the United faithful now have a trip to Old Trafford to look forward to.
