Wide midfielder joins Cambridge United

Cambridge United have signed wide midfielder Nathan Arnold on a two-year deal.

The wide midfielder, who also plays as a striker, scored 32 goals in 131 appearances for Alfreton Town over the past three seasons.

Arnold, who celebrates his 26th birthday on Friday, said:
“I’m excited to have joined Cambridge United, Richard(Money, Head Coach) and Jez (George, Director of Football) have shown their ambition for the Club moving forwards.  I want to get the fans excited, help Cambridge have a successful  season and maybe score some goals”

The U's Director of Football, Jez George, said:
“We have known about Nathan for a long time.  Richard has identified this as an area of the squad that needs strengthening and we have been patient in waiting for the right player to become available.  Nathan is really ambitious about playing in the Football League and we have convinced him that he can achieve this aim with us."
"Richard will talk more about his qualities, but we are delighted to have signed a player of his ability, and he will be an exciting player for our fans to watch this season.”

Nathan will wear the number 24 shirt this season.

Fans are reminded that they have the chance to meet the players and staff this weekend at The Community Open Day.  Come along this Sunday from 10:30am at The R Costings Abbey Stadium!
