The 21-year old, who joined the U’s in the summer, has certainly made an exciting impact since arriving at the Cambs Glass Stadium and has fast become a favourite with the Amber Army.

Following his powerful performances, the U’s recently offered the former Watford man an extended deal at the club until the end of the 2017/18 season and delighted to have put pen to paper, Uche is now focussed on further improving his form.

He said: “I’m really pleased to have secured a longer term deal with the club, because it has a great philosophy and great ambitions. I have really enjoyed being a part of it so far and will look forward to continue to being involved for a longer period.

“Now that it has been sorted, I can concentrate on improving my performances. I feel like I am getting better week in, week out and that I have still got a lot to learn.

“I’m trying to take as much on board as possible. The gaffer, Joe [Dunne], Matt Walker have been giving me great advice and I have tried to listen to everything and take it on board. My main aim is to simply play as much football and improve.”
