MATCH PREVIEW | CHELTENHAM TOWN – AWAY

Cambridge United travel to Cheltenham Town in Sky Bet League Two, in search of a third successive victory on the road.

The U’s are unbeaten in their last four away fixtures in the League and will be keen to replicate their performance at Brunton Park against high flyers Carlisle United last weekend as they head down to Gloucestershire.

Following a disappointing result at the hands of Hartlepool United on Tuesday night, the clash with the Robins provides Shaun Derry’s men a quick fire opportunity to bounce back.

Barry Corr’s return to light training in the week is a positive for United, with the striker likely to feature in the match day squad, while Liam O’Neil and James Dunne are both injury doubts.

As for the hosts, they’ll be without Manager Gary Johnson who underwent heart surgery on Thursday and everybody at Cambridge United would like to wish him a speedy recovery.

A four game unbeaten streak between February and the beginning of March, which included crucial wins over Leyton Orient, Yeovil and Carlisle has lifted the Robins seven points clear of the League Two drop zone.

With ten games left to play, Cheltenham look likely to avoid a return to the National League in their first season back in the Football League but will give the U’s a stern test as they continue to fight for their League Two survival.

In the reverse fixture at the Cambs Glass Stadium, a brace from Luke Berry and a goal from Uche Ikpeazu saw United claim a 3-1 victory. That win sees the U’s lead the overall head-to-had records by four wins to three.

Tickets can be purchased on the gate at Whaddon Road, with away travel still available online and by calling 01223 566 500.
