CLUB STATEMENT: INVESTIGATION

CLUB STATEMENT: INVESTIGATION

Cambridge United can confirm that both Cambridgeshire Police's and our own internal investigations are ongoing, following the allegations of racial abuse during the fixture with Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday 19th November.

As part of the ongoing process, one offender has been identified and the club has put appropriate sanctions in place.

Cambridge United prides itself on the safe, family-friendly environment within the Cambs Glass Stadium, and operates a zero tolerance policy towards anyone who is proven to have shown discriminatory behaviour at any fixture.

The club is proud to pro-actively support the work of the "Kick it Out" Campaign and continues our commitment to deliver the designated match day through the Community Trust, with our Community Coaches, First Team players and Scholars visiting local Primary Schools to educate and raise awareness of anti-discrimination.

We again ask that if anyone has any information relevant to the events of last weekend, please contact Chris McLoughlin from Cambridgeshire Police by emailing Christopher.mcloughlin@cambs.pnn.police.uk, or Cambridge United by emailing info@cambridge-united.co.uk.

The club will make no further comment on the matter.
