Cambridge United’s futsal team continue to make huge strides as they face England in a friendly at St George’s Park this Sunday.
The England squad are preparing to take on Germany in a double header at the end of the month, with the matches in Hamburg being the host country’s first official international fixtures.
Having recently been promoted to the Super League North - the country’s top Futsal division - the U’s have been selected to play their part in England’s build-up, marking another significant achievement having only started to represent Cambridge United last year.
Head Coach Luis Mendonca discusses the upcoming fixture with England, as well as the structure of the sport at the club, which starts with open access Futsal schools for girls and boys during the school holidays, progresses through regional development centres and a shadow scholarship scheme, right up to the first team.
