Wrexham 1-1 U's

Cambridge United were held to a 1-1 draw at The Racecourse this afternoon.

The U's started brightly but it was Wrexham who went in front on six minutes, Leon Clowes heading in at the back post from a Johnny Hunt corner.

United were back on terms on 17 minutes when Kwesi Appiah took advantage of a misplaced pass from Wrexham 'keeper Mayebi.

Delano Sam-Yorke and Appiah had chances to put United in front, however the sides went in all square at the break.

The U's started the second half at pace forcing a number of corners but were unable to find the net.

The hosts tested Maxwell at times, but the former Wrexham 'keeper made light work of their efforts.

Arnold, Sam-Yorke, Cunnington and Dunk all came close to taking the points home for United, but the scoreline remained 1-1.
