FULL TIME: Cambridge United 0-1 Grimsby Town
21.37: A few long, hopeful, balls into the box from the U's at the end there, but never got near Mckeown's goal, and the final whistle goes. Good effort from the U's, but ultimately the better team won, and should've won by a more handsome margin.
21.32: Four minutes to be added as Jarvis scuffs a pass out of play.
21.30: Hughes' cross causes chaos, but the ball won't quite run for Dunk and a grateful McKeown falls on it.
21.28: Corner to United, won by Thorpe after a deep cross from Shaw. Jennings to take, it's cleared back to Jennings and after an almight scramble it's away by Grimsby. Ball back in and it comes across to Thorpe who volleys wide. Time-wasting substitution for Grimsby, Elding to be replaced by good old Rob Duffy, who scored against the U's earlier in the season.
21.26: Hughes tries a curler, doesn't work, trundles through to Mckeown. Blaine Hudson is the man of the match choice of sponsors Close Motor Finance.
21.23: That was probably the chance for Berry, but ten minutes plus stoppage time left to do something, come on United!
21.19: Lovely ball in from Jennings and oh my word that's just wide, Luke Berry's header creeps past the post.
21.18: Ball in isn't the best from Thorpe, it's headed clear as far as Jarvis, who is brought down by a flying boot from Townsend. Another yellow card.
21.17: Lovely ball from Thorpe to Dunk, who gets away from one defender and is flattened by Coulson. Free kick and yellow card to Coulson. Good position for a cross, right on the left edge of the box.
21.16: Jennings goes for goal from 35 yards and only troubles the cars on Newmarket Road. That was silly.
21.11: Long free kick into the box from Naisbitt, Hughes flicks it on to Coulson, who in space manages to shin it straight behind. Been that sort of night so far.
21.08: Another change for United, Jarvis on for Marriott. I assume Berry will push up in support of Hughes.
21.07: Yellow card for James Jennings there, poor sliding tackle on someone, could be Townsend. Prior to that Grimsby had kept the ball for about three minutes, the visitors look rather impressive.
21.03: Tonight's attendance is 2,436, with 425 away fans who are enjoying their evening so far. Half an hour to play.
21.00: Cross comes in from the left and finds Artus, who dinks a shot which Naisbitt has to parry behind. Good save, and Disley heads over from the resulting corner. First change for United, Jonathon Thorpe on for Carew, who's been peripheral for most of the match.
20.58: Nice link from Hughes to find Carew, whose cross into the near post is towards Marriott, who makes a good run but a defender does enough to put him off, Garner i think it was and the ball spins back to the keeper.
20.56: Another free kick to Grimsby now, Marriott's sliding tackle on Silk. Good position for a cross, which Coulson will deliver and Miller shins it wide.
20.55: Don't want to put the kiss of death on him, but the ref has been decent tonight. Free kick to Grimsby now, in it comes to Hearn at the back stick, Naisbitt spoons his shot clear, it comes back out to Disley whose shot is blocked away for a corner.
20.50: Berry fouled 40 yards out on the right. Chance for Marriott to deliver but Grimsby head the free kick clear.
20.47: And it's go go go. United fans trying to rouse their team, they'll do well to outsing Grimsby's very vocal fans in the South Stand.
20.46: Here come the players, we're about to get back underway, don't really see a way back into this for the U's but you never know I suppose.
HALF TIME: Cambridge United 0-1 Grimsby Town
20.32: That's half-time. United started well but Grimsby now well on top and look the more likely scorers. United will need to up it after the break, but there's not much on the bench attacking-wise if Jez George wants to make a change.
20.28: Neat stuff from Marriott to Berry, and though he's crowded out the ball breaks to Hughes, who thrashes a shot wide.
20.27: Lovely move from Grimsby, Elding with the flick to Disley, then Coulson, who finds Hearn haring through the middle, and he's denied by a perfectly timed sliding tackle from our Coulson. Corner which goes straight out, goal kick.
20.21: Grimsby with a corner now, but it's short to Artus who runs it out of play. Visitors getting a lot of joy down the United left, Hearn linking up well with Coulson and Silk.
20.18: Again United guilty of not clearing their lines, Dunk presents it to Silk and his cross is headed onto the bar by Thanoj. Great leap from the midfielder, I think Naisbitt had it covered. United break, Hughes lays it off to Shaw and the defender has to put it behind. Corner isn't the best and cleared.
20.16: Grimsby look like a team with confidence now. After United's early spell of pressure it's now the visitors who are in charge. They've got a free kick 40 yards out after a foul by Roberts. It's teed up to Coulson, who tries an optimistic shot which is charged down.
20.13: United down to ten briefly with Berry off the pitch having treatment to a facial injury. Grimsby try to take advantage with Artus, who chips the ball in and it's put behind by Roberts. Berry's back as the corner comes in, but there's a foul in there and United have a free kick.
20.09: GOAL CAMBRIDGE UNITED 0-1 GRIMSBY TOWN. The visitors lead and it's Anthony Elding with the goal. United should've cleared that really, but Jennings and Shaw rather left the ball for each other in the left corner, presenting it to Hearn, whose pull back is perfect for Elding to side-foot in from 12 yards.
20.06: Silk's attempted cross blocked by Dunk, Grimsby corner, ball comes across, bobbles around in the box and Disley blazes over under pressure.
20.02: Dunk looks sharp tonight, clever turn on the edge of the box helps him free Hughes, who tries a curler which the keeper parries to safety.
20.00: Good grief, short back pass from Coulson lets in Hearn, who goes down as Coulson and Naisbitt crash into him. Ref gives a penalty but on advice from linesman overturns the decision. Second game running, amazing stuff. Ref gives a drop ball which United win and hoof to safety.
19.57: Shaw rides a couple of challenges and has a go from 25 yards, but that effort flies harmlessly wide.
19.53: Marriott too quick for Miller there, who cleans him out as he flicks a pass off. Yellow card for the Grimsby defender.
19.50: Dunk makes a mug of Coulson, who tugs him back. Good advantage from the ref, who tried to let the game go but had to pull it back. Dunk to take, slips as he does so and Berry can only flick it behind.
19.48: Hughes jumps to meet a long Naisbitt free kick and is fouled. Not sure about that, but free kick United right on the edge of the box, left of centre. Carew to take, it's a good one, keeper pushes it away and Marriott's follow up from an acute angle hits the outside of the post and goes behind, good stuff, unlucky.
19.46: Promising start from United, penning Grimsby back and building down the left. Hughes intercepts a wayward Grimsby pass but can't link up with Carew.
19.44: Here we go, United to kick off attacking the South Stand.
19.41: Here come the teams, crowd doesn't look too bad tonight, decent number of visiting fans here.
Cambridge United: Naisbitt, Roberts, Jennings, Coulson, Hudson, Carew (Thorpe 58), Dunk, Shaw, Berry, Marriott (Jarvis 65), Hughes. Subs: Cuff, McAuley, Thorpe, Eades, Jarvis.
Grimsby Town: McKeown, Silk, Townsend, Garner, Miller, Coulson, Artus, Thanoj, Disley, Elding (Duffy 87), Hearn. Subs: Duffy, Person, Makofo, Hughes-Mason, McCarthy
19.10: TEAM NEWS. The teams are in and Gash... doesn't make it. Liam Hughes starts up front in his place. Blaine Hudson comes in at the back for Michael Wylde and Jack Eades is back from Hemel Hempstead to help the U's fill the bench. Grimsby's line-up looks a lot more experienced, former United man Rob Duffy is on the bench along with new signing Kieran Mason-Hughes.
19.05: Last time Grimsby came here, in November 2010, the match ended 1-1, Danny Wright getting the U's goal, Rob Eagle on target for the visitors
18.58: No team news yet, but Michael Gash was undergoing a fitness test on the pitch as I arrived. Not sure if he passed, but I'm sure it will be apparent soon, Greg Reid was wearing his best poker face as they left the pitch.
18.54: Good evening folks and welcome to tonight's Blue Square Bet Premier encounter between Cambridge United and Grimsby Town. United face a difficult task if they are to make it two home wins in a row, with Grimsby coming into this match as the division's form side.
